Freightquip Pty Ltd was originally founded in 2001, primarily being a support mechanism to the Steelbro Group of companies. It has since evolved into a self-sufficient entity developed to support the aviation, rail and port industries in Australia. In June 2014, Freightquip was purchased by Containermax Pty Ltd and Unit 45 BV Holland in equal shares, one of the key assets of the new company is that all employees of the company transferred their employment.
The aviation ground support equipment, rail and port handling industries share many synergies and have many of the same design parameters and processes but are obviously varied in application, (i.e. engine powered, mobile, high level of electrical and hydraulic technology) and all have been undergoing constant evolutionary change driven through the need for innovative competitive solutions.
Furthering our commitment to supporting the rail industry in Australia, Freightquip is now a member of the Australasian Railway Association (ARA).
Freightquip is aligned with global leading equipment and engineered product manufacturers and their experiences. This has enabled Freightquip, as a company, to develop into a stand-alone entity for the Oceania market.
