Lifting Jacks and Hoists
Heavy-duty vehicle and wagon lifting via jacks and hoists.
Freightquip supplies synchronised Rail Vehicle Lifting Jacks and Hoists from Emanuel and Whiting, designed for safe, stable elevation of complete railcars, trams, or locomotives. These systems are essential for underframe maintenance, bogie replacement, and structural inspection, providing safety whilst supporting a wide range of vehicle sizes and lifting requirements.
Technical Overview:
Emanuel and Whiting jacks are available in fixed or mobile column formats, with lifting capacities ranging from 5.5 to 50 tonnes per column. Jack systems operate in synchronised groups—typically from 4 to 128 columns—allowing even lifting of entire trainsets. Both electromechanical and hydraulic models are available, with programmable logic control (PLC) for synchronisation, remote diagnostics, and safety interlocks. Units feature automatic load levelling, height pre-selection, and manual override for precision control.
